My Givenchy New Scores....on sale!!

I've been obsessed with these 2 pairs of Givenchy shoes since I saw them at Net-A-Porter. Even if those are in British pounds with tax refund shipping to my place, the prices are still pretty expensive. So, I waited and waited and waited.....till the USA big sale!!

So, here they are!!

This 1st pair is from Saks. The original price is US$840. I scored them at the 1st cut when the discount was 30% off. So, I paid only US$587.90. I'm so happy!

I love this lace effect on mesh, and the all-in-one "bootie-sandal" style. Haha! I plan to wear this with cropped pants.
(Side Note: What's with the mesh material these days? I can't help but notice a lot of designer brands are using mesh for their shoes!! I've seen it on Chanel, Givenchy, Valentino, Christian Louboutin...just to name a few. Maybe it's the trend.)

Now....on to the 2nd pair.....

I bought this from Barney's New York. I've asked my SA to keep an eye for me when this pair hits the sale. The original price was US$890. My SA contacted me for pre-sale before it hits the sales rack at 40% off. So, I paid for it at US$619. Then, after 1 week, I saw on Barney's website that this exact same pair had further made it to the 2nd cut!! So, I asked for a price adjustment (I learned about this US-exclusive tactics from my Purse Forum friends) and she did it! So, I finally paid only US$464.25 for this pair!! What a great price for a pair of Givenchy!

The heels and platform are all coated with chocolate brown leather...

I love taupe/gray colors very much (I don't really wear black that much so taupe/gray/khaki are my kind of "black"), that's why I fell in love with this pair when I saw it in this taupe/brown color combo. I love the lace-up style of this peep toe ankle bootie. The "shoe lace" is made of leather and the actual taupe color of the body of the shoes has some sort of "brush" effect which makes the leather even more unique. I love the color combo very much. It will go well with any kind of outfit, be it casual or formal.

Quick modeling pictures.....

Hope you enjoy the pictures. :D

A little peek into one of my Chanel goodies...:D

It's been a long time since I did my Chanel reveal....the last time was 3 months ago in April.

So, here's a little peek into one of my Chanel buys.....guess what it is? I didn't buy 1 but 2 of these in different colors.

Voila! 09P Chanel "Smoking Tuxedo" high heel sandals!

A very quick modeling picture of the sandals....

I love these sandals, the booties with 2 bows, and pointed bow flats from this Smoking Tuxedo Collection. This collection is available in the following 3 materials:
1. mesh with polka dot/CC logo/no. "5" logo prints with grosgrain bow and trims (the version that I bought)
2. all satin version
3. sequined quilting version with a statement Chanel brooch-like jewel in the middle of the bow (this version costs more than US$2K though)

Well, I can't convince myself to splurge on the US$2K sequined version, and the all-satin version is way too common for me, so I opted for this cute and fun mesh version. I'm loving the polka dots and the Chanel logos on the mesh material. And of course, I'm crazy about bows!! Anything bow will make me "melt" instantly. Hehehehehhe!

But it's not the end of the story yet.....
I originally bought the above all black version in mesh (the mesh is in black color) which my friend helped me bring back home from Paris in June. However, after 2 weeks, I saw this white/black version which is even better! So, what the heck?! I bought it instantly!

Left shoe: White/Black color combo
Right shoe: All-Black version

Quick modeling pictures of the white/black version...

This white/black version is unbeatable! I love how the white-colored mesh shows the logos/polka dots way more clearly than the black version, and the white/black color contrast makes this pair of shoes much more interesting.

What do you guys think?

My new 5 inches heels.....

After all these crazy shopping, I'm starting to "unpack" the new shoes I've bought these 2 months. (There are still 2 shipments coming from the Nordstrom and NM...)

This is the 1st pair of Marni that I own, and is also the highest heels I've got. However, to my surprise, they are amazingly comfortable!!

I love the details of the platform (tweed + wood) and also love how the chunky heels are being made. They are so retro!

So, here's my ensemble which I wore during the weekend, featuring my new Marni platform sandals, and also a new addition to my Chanel family which I bought in March09 (after I took my Chanel family portrait) - Chanel 09P classic jumbo size flap in Fuchsia "washed" Caviar with silver hw.

TOP:
- Bottom Layer ==> Magenta cotton camisole (Kookai)
- Middle Layer ==> White tank top (Zara)
- Top Layer ==> Blue jean "baby doll" cropped blazer ("Lowry's Farm" - a
Japanese Brand)

BOTTOM:
- Multicolor Floral Print "sarouel"/harem pants (Zara)

BAG:
- 09P Fushcia washed caviar jumbo with silver hw (Chanel)

SHOES:
- Brown leather wooden chunky 5-inch heels platform sandals (Marni)

ACCESSORIES:
- Hat: Beige "Fedora" straw hat with chocolate brown satin ribbon (a Japanese brand)
- Earrings: 09P "Spring Bloom" Blue/pink flower earrings with dangling CC
in enamel and strass (Chanel)
- Necklace: Sequined and beaded blue/white/black/yellow/matte gold multicolor fabric "ethnic" long necklace (Kookai)
- Sunglasses: 5120 Tortoise sunglasses with gradient brown lens (Chanel)

Without the Fedora hat....

My blue jean blazer is made of very soft cotton fabric with pleated details. I tried to match my ensemble with a very washed-out light blue real denim jacket, but I think this one's fabric and length match the outfit better.

Details of my jeweleries....(picked this since the blue and pink colors of these Chanel earrings match the color tone of my outfit and also the floral print of my pants....)

I chose this ethnic-looking long fabric necklace by Kookai because it fits the "mood" and colors of the ensemble. Kookai sometimes have some nice costume jeweleries and they are at really affordable prices. Nice to have for mix-and-match.

I love the floral and sequins details of this necklace and the different beads and sequins used on the fabric (white cotton rope). It's handmade and I think it's well made for the price of Euro50. This necklace length is very very long, and you can adjust it to 2/3/4 strands. Very versatile.

Close-up pics of my 09P fuchsia caviar jumbo, taken outdoor with natural lighting without flash to reflect the true color........yummy yummy!

Chanel 101

Earlier, I was saying that I played around with my Chanel bag family while taking the "family picture". It's so much fun categorizing them into different styles, sizes and leathers. I'll share some pictures and information of the "categories" one by one below.

First of all, here's my Chanel Classic Flap family (all with "CC" lock closures)....

And then, among the Classic Flap family, there are 2 sizes which I collect:
1. The "Classique" size (Europe calls them "medium size", while in the US, people call them "medium/large" or "M/L" size) ==> this is the most original size Chanel first released. It's 10" x 6". This size has double flaps (i.e. it has an inner flap when you open the bag.)
2. The "Jumbo" size ==> this is my favourite size of all because it's practical and classic. You can just go casual/formal with them....anything! The dimensions of the jumbo size is 12" x 8". Jumbo sizes only have 1 outer flap unlike the medium sizes with double flaps.

Here are the "medium" size members of my Chanel Classic Flap family...

And this is the jumbo size members of my Chanel Classic Flap family.

Aside from the Jumbo and Medium sizes for Classic Chanel flaps, there are also the "baguette" size (some people call it East/West size), the mini size (which is a square-shaped flap), and also the new released "maxi" size (even larger than a jumbo). But I am not really into these sizes coz they are not the practical for my lifestyle and these sizes don't really flatter my figure. That's why I only collect Jumbos and Mediums, in both gold and silver hardware/chain colors.

For the Chanal Classic Flaps, there are all sorts of leathers you can choose from: lambskin, caviar (calfskin with pebbled texture), patent, tweed, python, crocodile/alligator skin etc. You name it. I love lambskin the most because it just feels so "luxurious" and buttery soft. Caviar, on the other hand, is really durable. Patents are beautiful in their own ways, however, you need to store them carefully in a cool dry place to avoid the patent leather becoming sticky. I love python too and lucky to own 1 python flap in the metallic bronze color. Crocs are nice but too expensive (which I'd rather invest in a Hermes Birkin. Hahahaha!).

Then, there is also another very classic Chanel style called the "2.55 Reissue". The difference of the reissue vs. the classic style lies mainly on the chains and lock closure. For reissue styles, the lock is rectangular (it's called "Mademoiselle" lock), and the chains are "all metal" without any interwoven leather like the classic bags (this is called "reissue chain"). Actually, "Reissue" is the most classic Chanel bag of all because it was the 1st Chanel bag designed by Mlle Coco herself. The classic bags with CC closure was only introduced during the 80's when Karl Lagerfeld joined as the designer of Maison Chanel (i.e. House of Chanel). Reissue is a "MUST" for any Chanel collector/lovers out there! Hehehehe!

Here's my "Reissue" family members...

Now, "Reissue" also has different sizes:
1. Large size (32cm across, sometimes the US people call it "227" size because of the style number used prior to 2008)
2. Medium size (28cm across aka. "226" size)
3. Small size (25cm across aka. "225" size)
4. Baby size (20cm across aka. "224" size)
5. X-Large size (36cm across aka "228" size. This size was once released in 2007, but then this size is no longer available now.)

From top to botton / left to right, X-Large, Large, Medium, Small reissue:

I love the Large size the most coz it gives you the chic/casual look. I also have Medium and Small size for different occassions.

Here are some pictures of the different chain colors of "Reissue". Some are tarnished matte gold (I love this hardware the most because of its vintage effect), some are shiny silver, some are darker shade of ruthenium, some are black. These hardware color compliment each bag differently.

Now, here are different pictures categorized by leather:

Lambskins (Classic Flaps and Bubble Quilt Hobo Flap)

Caviar (Classic Flaps)

Patents (Classic Flaps and Reissues)

Pythons and Tweeds(Classic Flaps & Classic Clutch)

Of course, there's always this "Miscellaneous" category. Here are the other styles I own:
- Bubble Quilt Hobo Flap (shown earlier) and Bubble Quilt Bowler made of lambskin released in 2007 (Bubble Quilt is one of my favorite twist to classic flaps)
- Portobello "bag-in-bag" effect (the tote I always use) which was released in 2008 (Portobello's outer leather is in shiny calfskin, while the top cover is made of lambskin)
- Timeless Classic clutch (shown earlier) which is the only clutch style I own because Chanel's classic clutch is a pretty size which can fit in quite a lot of things as compared to other clutches. I love it in dark silver (which was a special limited edition released in 2008 in Hawaii only) and python.
- Tweed flap (shown earlier) which was released in 2004 and I love this special flap design which is a bit different from usual classic flaps. It's also known as "Mischa Barton tweed flap" coz she has been seen carrying this flap around for a lot of times. This is the only tweed flap I own and I love it to bits.
- Pearls Obsession lambskin accordion style small tote which is made of lambskin released in 2009 Spring/Summer. I love that this tote has navy faux pearls all around it with the CC made of these same navy faux pearls. I love pearls so I bought this bag for a change.

Miscellaneous Chanel bag...

So, that's all folks! Hope you enjoyed the "Chanel Lesson". Hehehehe! More to come!

Greetings from my Chanel Family...

So, I was saying that I've been so addicted to Chanel. I decided to take a family picture of my Chanel bags. It took me like 5 hours to complete the whole process! It's such hard work, believe me.

I keep all my Chanel bags in their original box, with soft papers wrapping each of them to keep the moisture level to the lowest. I also have silica gels inside the bag and inside the box to prevent humidity. My bags are all stuffed with just enough soft papers to keep the shape of the bag at its best. That's why it took me so long to unpack all the boxes and papers, and then pack them again after taking the pictures.

So, voila! Here's my family picture which I took in April. Total 38 bags. But I've added 7 more bags since April and will do a reveal really soon after I receive everything. I also have a collection of Chanel costume jeweleries, but I'll take a family picture of that next time when I have time. I just don't know how many boxes I need to unpack for jeweleries! Hahahaha! I need a bigger closet room!!

I've also categorize my bags into different leathers, colors and styles.

So, here are the blacks..

The navy's...

The browns/beige/taupe/khaki's....

The grays/silver's...

The greens...

The reds, burgundy & pinks...

Finally, the purples...

Hope you enjoy the eye candies!

P.S. I'll write more about my bags in my next post because I've categorized them into different leathers, sizes and styles. Stay tuned.
